Giuseppe Motta (1871-1940). Membre du Parti populaire catholique (qui devient en 1912 le Parti conservateur populaire en 1912), Guiseppe Motta est conseiller fédéral de 1912 à 1940 et président de la Confédération à cinq reprises.)
Il préside l’Assemblée générale de la Société des Nations entre 1924 et 1925 et président d'honneur de la Conférence mondiale pour le désarmement en 1932.

A time for dialogue
In 2003, a man from Geneva initiated a dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians far from the diplomatic arena. His aim: to achieve a two-state solution. The RTS archives bear witness to the dynamic generated by this ‘Geneva Initiative’.
