Key Moment in History: The 1864 Diplomatic Conference and the Rise of Henry Dunant, Father of the Red Cross
A scene from the 1864 Diplomatic Conference led by General Dufour, the first president of the International Committee for the Relief of the Wounded – the ancestor of the ICRC – founded in February 1863.
This photomontage was created at Henry Dunant's request; unable to attend, he asked for his likeness to be added as a medallion.
